Flavor Profile: Dark sour cherry, pepper, smoke, juniper and rosehip. Fresh and lively, with earthy spice and silky tannins.

Origin: Both sides of the Austrian-Hungarian border: the Kalkofen vineyard in Burgenland, which brings bright freshness, and the Steiner vineyard in Sopron, Hungary, on the southern shore of Lake Neusiedl, which brings dark fruit and spice.

Grapes: Blaufränkisch from the Kalkofen, Syrah and Blaufränkisch from the Steiner.

Process: Biodynamically farmed and Demeter certified. Seven days on the skins gives silky tannins and a vibrant freshness, and a finely matured batch of the previous year's Blaufränkisch adds depth and balance. Unfiltered, bottled with minimal sulfur, at 12.5% alcohol.

About the Producer: Domaine Disco is a winery in motion rather than a place: the Berlin importer Drops makes limited editions with European winemakers it admires. This one was made with Petra and Franz Weninger, biodynamic pioneers with family vineyards on both sides of the border.

Pairing Suggestions: Pizza, goulash, BBQ or a good burger.
