HOT COMPOST! - PILE #1 Permaculture Bites and Shared Agency

HOT COMPOST! - PILE #1 Permaculture Bites and Shared Agency

You know compost. Do you know what HOT composting is?
This, and many other questions will be answered and/or criticized during the new regular series of events hosted at Oddkin’s nest on Danziger Straße.

Our community is already proving to be Oddkin’s true biggest asset: interviews, workshops, new products, new recipes, reporting from Terra Madre (Slow Food’s annual festival in Piemonte): all this has ALREADY happened, spontaneously, thanks to the enthusiastic engagement of our almighty members in this short amount of time.

This mixed event will become a way to activate energies coming from our community in a more structured setting, keeping our typical blend of informal conversations and competence shared with passion and a down-to-earth approach.

Part talk, part action group, part tasting: each meeting will be structured according to permaculture principles, and also specifically feature one or more permaculture topics and actionable tasks during the night.

FREE DONATION, NO FIXED COSTS.
Yes, subscribing to Oddkin or simply buying stuff to take home is considered a donation.

Our first conceptual compost pile will be made of the following layers:

1. Talkable:  Permaculture’s “Rule of 3”. Mollison’s and Holmgren’s versions, where they differ, why it matters, and how Oddkin’s entire financial structure, workflows, ethics are drenched in it.

2. Actionable: Designing Oddkin’s edible garden terrace according to permaculture principles. Who’s up for helping out? No permaculture knowledge required, but gardening experience is very welcome.

3. Edible: There’s a bunch of new incredible preserves from I Contadini, via our friends at Puro Import.
We’ll try a few with some sourdough from our other friends at Brede.

4. Talkable: let’s take one step back and briefly discuss Oddkin - the concept, in Donna Haraway’s most recent work Staying With The Trouble.

5. Actionable: More Books! Any ideas for partnerships with small publishing companies and/or bookstores? Do you want to write a book and need a producer? Don’t be afraid to think big: irrational ambition is part of our core values.

4. Edible: We’ll open a bottle and try it together. Which one? Whatever calls us to be uncorked, consensually.

5. Finishing touches: questions, feedback on subscriptions, formula, webshop, pre-orders. Do you see an actionable task/feature we could implement to make our community experience more wonderful? Let us know and we’ll get to work to make it happen.
