Decana, a classic Italian pear, from the Natoora selection at Puro Import. It's a fruit that rewards a little patience: leave it at room temperature until the flesh gives gently near the stem. Sold by the piece, so weight varies.

Soft, sweet and juicy when ripe, with a buttery texture. Eat it as it is with a wedge of cheese and some walnuts, or slice it over a salad. Once it's ripe, move it to the fridge and eat it soon.
