Rosato 2024 | Malauva
- Beschreibung
Flavor Profile: A pale, clear rosé with a candied strawberry and rose petal nose, lifted by a thread of dried herb and mineral freshness. Most of the grapes are pressed immediately, with a small portion left on the skins until fermentation is complete, giving just enough grip and texture without weighing the wine down. The finish is dry, clean, and quietly persistent.
Origin: Italy - Umbria, Castel Giorgio, on the volcanic plateau of Alfina, approximately 550 metres above sea level, at the crossroads of Tuscany, Lazio and Umbria.
Grapes: Sangiovese, from a 40-year-old vineyard on clayey soils.
Process: The wine is vinified and aged in stainless steel. Spontaneous fermentation, no fining, no filtration, no added sulfur - following Malauva's founding principle of zero additives.
About the Producer: Elisa Cortese and Giovanni Adua's story begins in the summer of 2011, when the couple quit their jobs, bought a camper, and immersed themselves in the Italian countryside, exploring organic farming, sustainable living, and natural wine. They eventually settled in Castel Giorgio, where they built a small, diverse agricultural ecosystem: vines, olive trees, vegetable gardens, and animals living side by side. Their wines are a direct reflection of the land.
Pairing Suggestions: Serve chilled alongside a summer spread - grilled fish, vegetable antipasti, burrata, or simply a long lunch in good company.
