Physalis | Gutes aus Gretes Garten - ca. 40g

Physalis, the little golden fruit wrapped in its own papery lantern, from Grete Peschken's certified organic farm in Stierow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, about two hours north of Berlin. Grown regeneratively and certified organic by Grete, who has a regular Thursday stall at Kollwitzplatz.

Sweet and tart at once, somewhere between a cherry tomato and a tropical fruit. Peel back the husk and eat them as they are, scatter them over yogurt or a cheese board, or dip them in melted chocolate. Keep them in their husks, in a cool spot, and they last well.
