Rosato Frizzante 2024 | Samodia
- Description
Flavor Profile: This gently sparkling rosé shimmers with a pale salmon hue and opens on a nose of crushed wild strawberry, pomegranate, and a faint herbal lift. On the palate it is crisp, light, and mineral-driven, with a lively mousse and a clean, slightly tannic finish from its brief skin contact. Festive without being frivolous.
Origin: Italy - Emilia-Romagna, Valsamoggia hills over limestone, at around 400 to 500 metres altitude.
Grapes: A blend of red and rosé varieties from old field-planted vines, including Barbera, Sangiovese, Negrettino, Lambrusco Grasparossa and Lambrusco Maestri.
Process: All grapes are harvested, fermented and aged together, paying respect to the Italian tradition of the field blend. No filtration, no fining, no added sulfites. The pétillant naturel method captures a gentle natural sparkle in the bottle.
About the Producer: Jacopo Stigliano has been fascinated by wine since a young age. Originally from Bologna, after decades travelling the world he returned to Emilia seeking a return to his roots, setting about restoring abandoned old vineyards in the hope of bringing a new energy to the territory. Together with his friend Flavio Restani, he produces the Samodia wines - named after the Latin name for their valley - from old vines planted on limestone in the highest hills of Valsamoggia. Simple on the surface, deeply rooted underneath.
Pairing Suggestions: Perfect as an aperitivo or alongside antipasti, cured meats, fresh cheeses, or fried vegetables. Serve well chilled and share generously.
